In a video shared by SILVERBIRD N24 on Thursday, May 21, 2026, he described the exercise as a “jamboree,” alleging that it was poorly organized.
Imaseun said the returning officer initially claimed the result sheets needed for the election were not available and said they were being brought from Benin City.
According to him, party members waited for nearly two hours before the local government council chairman arrived at the venue with his entourage.
Imasuen added that the same official who earlier said the result sheets were missing later returned, after which the primary election eventually commenced.
Here’s what he said,
“The so-called returning officer began the conduct of the primaries. We got there by 9:00am. Conduct these primaries, he told me that he doesn’t have the return sheets. I said why is it not with you? He said somebody is bringing them from Benin and that until the person comes.”
