US Intelligence Assessment: IRAN Could Still Build A Nuclear Weapon Under A Year

U.S. intelligence assessment hass concluded that the time Iran would need to build a nuclear weapon has not changed since last summer. Analysts estimate it at roughly 9 months to a year.

The main factor is Iran’s remaining stockpile of highly enriched uranium , particularly ~440 kg enriched to 60% which are enough for roughly 10 bombs if further enriched to ~90%.

Much of this is believed to be in hard-to-reach underground locations, and the IAEA has not fully verified its status since inspections were disrupted.
