Ebubu Eleme, Rivers State — A woman has reportedly been stripped by angry residents in Ebubu, Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State, after she was accused of stealing a baby from her neighbour’s home.
According to local accounts, the incident occurred after a missing infant reportedly between three and five months old sparked panic in the community. The baby was said to belong to a neighbour of the accused woman.
Sources claim the family, in desperation, consulted a traditional spiritualist who allegedly mentioned the suspect’s name as being responsible for the disappearance of the child. Following the accusation, residents reportedly confronted the woman.

She was initially said to have denied any involvement, but tension escalated as members of the community allegedly compelled her to take traditional oaths to prove her innocence. Under pressure, she reportedly confessed to involvement in the disappearance of the child.
