“Vote Right Or Face The Consequences”- Military Officer Warns Nigerians On Choice Of Leaders

A Nigerian military officer has generated widespread reactions online after speaking about voting and leadership choices ahead of the 2027 general elections, urging citizens to be more intentional in selecting their leaders.

In a viral video circulating on social media, he explained that military personnel are not involved in voting, yet they are required to implement directives issued by elected civilian leaders.

He emphasized that the quality of leadership chosen by the electorate has a direct impact on everyone, including members of the armed forces who are obligated to obey lawful commands from those in authority.

The officer further advised Nigerians to prioritize competence, integrity, and a genuine commitment to public service over wealth, fame, or political popularity when making electoral decisions.

He concluded by encouraging voters to focus on leaders who demonstrate humanity and a strong sense of justice, noting that such choices ultimately shape the direction of the country.

In his words:

“I no say make una no vote for who you like, but I abeg, vote for the right person.

You know what it is? Now, we [the military] do not vote, but anybody wey una vote, na him go give us order wey we go follow otherwise watimagbo.

So if you want to vote, vote for leader wey no dey in love of money, but they are in love of justice. Vote for a leader wey no like publicity but he likes humanity so that everybody go…”
