Workers’ Day: Lagos APC hails labour’s role in state development

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has extended greetings to workers as the country marks the 2026 Workers’ Day, commending their vital role in driving the state’s growth and development.

In a statement released on Friday, the state APC Chairman, Cornelius Ojelabi, lauded workers across Lagos for their dedication, resilience, and unwavering commitment to duty.

He described the workforce as a key pillar of the state’s continued advancement, noting that their contributions have helped sustain Lagos’ standing as a leading centre of excellence.

Ojelabi observed that since the advent of democratic governance, workers have played a central role in the achievements recorded in Lagos State, serving as the backbone of its development strides.

He also acknowledged the contributions of workers nationwide under the leadership of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Babajide Sanwo-Olu, stating that their collective efforts have supported stability and economic progress.

According to him, the APC-led administration remains committed to the prompt payment of salaries and the continuous improvement of labour standards in line with global best practices.

The party chairman further commended youths, women, and men in the workforce for their consistent support and contributions to national development.

He expressed optimism that sustained collaboration between government and workers would further enhance prosperity in Lagos and strengthen the nation’s overall growth.
