Actor Mofe Duncan has fired back at media personality Daddy Freeze over remarks he made about the tribute event held in honour of late actor Alexx Ekubo.
Reacting to Daddy Freeze’s criticism of the gathering, Mofe Duncan insisted that the event was not a funeral but a night of tributes and a service of songs dedicated to celebrating Alexx Ekubo’s life and faith.
In a strongly worded response, the actor stated that hymns were sung throughout the event and described it as a worship-filled evening, noting that members of Alexx’s family confirmed that the late actor loved worship.
“The night wasn’t about you or anyone else but Alexx. It was not a funeral, it was a night of tributes and a service of songs. Hymns were sung. It was a night of worship,” Mofe Duncan wrote.
He also criticized Daddy Freeze for commenting on the event despite allegedly not adhering to the all-white dress code, claiming the broadcaster attended dressed in black.
Mofe Duncan further expressed disappointment that Daddy Freeze publicly stated he was angry and left the event, adding that such remarks were inappropriate given the purpose of the gathering.
