Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has weighed in on the ongoing conversation surrounding the late Alex Ekubo’s private marriage, stating that the actor should not have kept his wife away from the public eye.
The actor shared his opinion while reacting to discussions about bloggers and social media users circulating photos and videos of Alex Ekubo’s wife following his passing.
According to Yul Edochie:
“He shouldn’t have hidden anything from anyone.
It wasn’t necessary.
People must learn to stop worrying about what people say.
No matter what you do in life people must talk.
So leave them to talk.
Leave blogs to blog.
To be great in life you must never make yourself small for any one or any reason.
Give them things to talk about while you ignore them and enjoy your life.”
His comments came in response to a post by Nasiru, who had written:
“Alex Ekubo kept his marriage away from the vulture internet. Now that he’s gone, blogs are already digging up and posting his wife. But na some of una still talk say na gay. These blogs are vampires….”
Yul’s remarks have since generated reactions online, with many social media users debating whether public figures have a right to keep their families private or whether such privacy becomes difficult in the age of social media.
