Applications are now open for the BDEI Community Champion Program, a 4-month virtual fellowship designed to equip young Nigerians with leadership, digital, and artificial intelligence (AI) skills while supporting them to create positive change in their communities.
The BDEI Community Champion Program is being run under the Basic Digital Education Initiative (BDEI), which is a program of Tech4Dev that offers participants an opportunity to join a network of young leaders driving digital and AI inclusion through learning, leadership, and community action. Fellows will gain practical knowledge, develop valuable skills, and implement projects that address challenges within their communities.
Program Overview
The fellowship will run for four months and will be delivered virtually. During the first month, participants will take part in an intensive bootcamp requiring 12 hours per week, spread across three days each week. From the second to the fourth month, fellows will attend two structured training sessions per month while implementing their community projects.
Each fellow is expected to reach and impact at least 80 to 100 individuals within their community during the program.
What Fellows Will Do
Participants will:
- Attend structured virtual training sessions.
- Build practical leadership, digital, and AI skills.
- Design and implement a community project.
- Join a growing network of community champions.
The opportunity is ideal for educators, youth leaders, community organizers, and individuals passionate about using technology to create social impact. Fellows who successfully complete the program will receive certification upon completion.
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Be residents of Nigeria.
- Be between 18 and 35 years old.
- Have an interest in leadership, technology, and community development.
