Applications are now open for the Women Techsters LaunchPad 4.0, a free one-week intensive training programme designed to equip female university students with foundational and practical knowledge of the digital ecosystem and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The programme is an initiative of TECH4DEV and is funded by the Internet Society Foundation. It aims to bridge the gender gap in technology by providing young women with hands-on learning opportunities, industry exposure, and mentorship from experienced professionals.
According to the organisers, the training is open to female university students across 30 African countries. Participants will gain practical knowledge that can help them explore career opportunities in the technology sector and build relevant digital skills for the future.
During the five-day training, participants will learn about various areas of technology and AI. The programme will cover career opportunities in tech, prompt engineering, vibe coding, internet safety essentials, and other practical AI skills. Participants will also develop important skills needed for growth in the technology industry and build their first portfolio project using AI.
The organisers said the initiative is designed to encourage more women to explore technology careers, develop digital competencies, and gain confidence in their ability to succeed in the rapidly evolving digital economy.
The training will run from June 29 to July 3, 2026. Sessions will be held daily for 2 hours and 30 minutes, allowing participants to learn and engage with experts while balancing their academic commitments.
Women Techsters LaunchPad 4.0 is tuition-free, making it accessible to eligible students who are interested in gaining valuable technology and AI skills at no cost.
