A Nigerian man who sent his aunt ₦30,000 monthly for two years has been left heartbroken after a discovery.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), @Mrbachelor disclosed that the ₦30,000 he sent his aunt monthly came from his salary.

According to him, she lives in the village and reached out to complain about her leaking roof and collapsing provision shop.
Meanwhile, he survived on garri and groundnuts to keep his aunt from starving.
Man Travels To His Hometown
However, in December 2025, he travelled to his hometown for a family reunion.
Upon arrival, he walked down to her street, sweating as he carried a half bag of rice he had purchased.
Anticipating to see his sister’s dilapidated house, he came across a four-bedroom duplex with interlocking and a borehole, leaving him confused.
Upon an inquiry , he was informed the luxurious apartment was recently completed and his aunt purchased two buses for her commercial transport business.
As he stood at the gate, he received her call requesting the monthly salary.
Recounting the phone conversation, he tweeted, “My son,” her voice cracked pitifully over the line. Have you sent this month’s money? I have not drank water since yesterday”.
