Bandits Kidnap Wife and Son of Kebbi APC Chairman in Midnight Attack

Yauri, Kebbi State — Suspected armed bandits have abducted the wife and son of Alhaji Yusuf Alhasan, Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yauri Local Government Area of Kebbi State, in a late-night attack on his residence.

Security sources and local reports indicate that the attackers stormed the chairman’s home in the Low-Cost area of Yauri around midnight on Monday, overpowering occupants before forcibly taking the two victims to an unknown destination.

A security analyst and conflict reporter known as Bakatsine disclosed the incident, noting that the assailants operated in large numbers and left the area shortly after the abduction.

As of the time of filing this report, the identities of the kidnappers remain unknown, and no group has claimed responsibility for the attack. Security agencies have also not issued an official statement regarding the incident.

The abduction adds to the growing wave of insecurity in parts of northwestern Nigeria, where armed groups continue to carry out kidnappings for ransom and violent raids on rural and semi-urban communities despite ongoing security operations.

Residents of Yauri have expressed concern over the incident, calling for swift intervention by security forces to ensure the safe return of the victims and to prevent further attacks in the area.

Authorities are expected to intensify search and rescue operations as investigations into the attack continue.
