CcHUB, LCCI Launch Digital Skills Programme for 2,850 Nigerian Youths

Co-Creation Hub (CcHUB) has partnered with the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) to launch a new digital skills and youth empowerment programme aimed at preparing young Nigerians for opportunities in the digital economy.

The partnership, supported by the Mastercard Foundation, was formalised through an Implementation Agreement signed on 7 May 2026. Under the agreement, LCCI will serve as a designated Partner Hub responsible for providing digital learning access, infrastructure, and community support for youths across Lagos State.

The programme is expected to support 2,850 participants within the first year, with a total of 85,500 learning vouchers allocated to beneficiaries. According to both organisations, the initiative is designed to address digital skills gaps, improve employability, and create sustainable economic opportunities for young Nigerians.

As part of the rollout, participants will have access to the LCCI-BOI Innovation Hub located in Ikeja, Lagos. The facility will provide at least 100 computer workstations, high-speed internet connectivity, stable electricity, and a learning environment built to support training, collaboration, and innovation.

The innovation hub will operate from Monday to Saturday, allowing participants flexible access to digital learning resources and support services.

Beyond physical infrastructure, the programme will also focus on community-based learning through mentorship sessions, peer-to-peer engagement, networking opportunities, and monthly learning events. A dedicated Learning Community Coordinator will oversee participant engagement, track learning progress, and coordinate activities within the programme.

LCCI said the initiative will place strong emphasis on inclusion by ensuring access for underserved groups, including women, persons living with disabilities, and displaced youths.

Speaking on the partnership, Director General of LCCI, Dr. Chinyere Almona, described the collaboration as an important step toward expanding opportunities for Nigerian youths through digital education and workforce development.

“This partnership reflects the confidence that leading innovation and development institutions place in LCCI as a credible programme delivery partner. It aligns perfectly with our commitment to human capital development, digital skills advancement, youth empowerment, and inclusive economic growth,” she said.

“Through this initiative, we are creating opportunities for thousands of young Nigerians to gain the competencies required to succeed in today’s rapidly evolving economy.”

CcHUB, widely recognised as one of Africa’s leading innovation centres, has continued to support technology-driven development initiatives across the continent through innovation, enterprise support, and capacity-building programmes.

Through the collaboration, both organisations say they intend to strengthen access to learning, innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic participation for young Nigerians while helping more youths prepare for the future of work.
