A US-based family friend who attended the ceremony told NGBREAKINGNEWS that the move has been an inspiration to many people, and he narrated that it all started in Kenya when the tours and travel business of Mike, brother of Winnie and uncle to Henk and Joy collapsed due to Ebola travel restrictions, and he right away thought of starting over in the US.

In the US, the former tour guide who once worked as a teacher said that he immigrated to help others and started pulling himself up by the bootstraps, doing different jobs.

Once he became stable, he invited his sister to join him in the USA, and her children followed suit.

How did the trio react after the celebration?

“When they arrived, he didn’t want them to start working and later join a university like most immigrants, among them Kenyans do when they land in a foreign country; he advised them to go to school and the two siblings would leave their home and go study nursing,”he said.

Winnie started as a teacher in Kenya and later transitioned into a banker, and now she is a nurse, while Henk is a trained pilot who is now a nurse.
