DisCos Generated N203.61bn From Electricity Consumers In April – NERC

The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission(NERC) in its Commercial Performance Factsheet for April issued on Tuesday, 30June, 2026 disclosed that Electricity Distribution Companies (DisCos) generated N203.61 billion from electricity consumers in April, reports thegazellenews.com.

NERC, which made this disclosure through a statement published on its official X handle on Tuesday, 30 June, 2026 , said the factsheet showed that the 11 DisCos collected N203.61 billion out of total billings of N252.43 billion during the month under review.

“Collection efficiency recorded an increase to 80.66 per cent, resulting in total revenue collection of N203.61 billion for the month,” it stated.

According to the report, the DisCos received electricity worth N302.96 billion and billed customers N252.43 billion, out of which N203.61 billion was collected.

It stated that the collection translated to a collection efficiency of 80.66 per cent, up by 1.07 percentage points from the previous month.

The report added that the billing efficiency stood at 83.32 per cent, representing a slight decline of 0.57 percentage point from the previous month.

It further stated that the industry’s revenue recovery efficiency stood at 82.11 per cent, with an average actual collection of N102.13 per kilowatt-hour (kWh), compared to the allowed average tariff of N124.39/kWh.

The report listed Eko DisCo (102.09 per cent), Abuja DisCo (89.77 per cent) and Ikeja DisCo (88.89 per cent) as the top performers in revenue recovery efficiency for April.

According to the factsheet, these DisCos recorded the highest recovery efficiency levels during the month.
