Ekiti Governorship Election: INEC Distributes Sensitive Materials to 16 LGAs Ahead of Poll

With less than 48 hours to the Ekiti State Governorship Election, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has begun the distribution of sensitive election materials to its Electoral Officers across the state’s 16 Local Government Areas.

The exercise marks one of the final stages of preparations for Saturday’s governorship poll as the electoral body seeks to ensure a smooth, transparent and credible voting process.

Distribution commenced on Thursday morning at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) branch located along New Iyin Road in Ado-Ekiti, where election officials, security agencies, observers and political party representatives gathered to oversee the process.

The movement of sensitive materials was conducted under the watch of Electoral Officers, security personnel, civil society organisations, election observers and representatives of participating political parties.

Their presence was aimed at promoting transparency and building public confidence in the electoral process ahead of the crucial governorship election.

The materials are expected to be delivered to all 16 local government areas before being deployed to various polling units across the state.

INEC Assures Voters of Credible Election

Speaking with journalists during the exercise, Ekiti State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Bunmi Omosehinde, expressed confidence in the commission’s level of preparedness.

He assured residents that all necessary arrangements had been put in place to ensure that Saturday’s election is conducted smoothly and in line with electoral guidelines.
