The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening teacher education, accelerating digital transformation, promoting school safety, and expanding inclusive access to quality education through the handover of ICT equipment and instructional materials to 15 Colleges of Education across Nigeria.

The intervention, implemented with the Government of Japan, UNESCO-IICBA, and the African Union, is part of a regional project across six African countries to promote continuous and inclusive access to safe and quality education for girls.

Speaking in Abuja, the Minister of State for Education, Prof. Suwaiba Sa’id Ahmad, said the initiative aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda and national priorities in TVET, STEM, digitalisation, and reduction of out-of-school children.

She noted that teachers remain central to education reform.

She disclosed that the equipment includes laptops, tablets, desktops, smart boards, projectors, printers, and storage systems to strengthen digital teaching and learning.
