Forum of National Youth Leaders of All Political Party Demand 2031 Power Handover, Condemn Rising Insecurity

Forum of National Youth Leaders of All Political Parties in Nigeria (FNYLPPN)
Distinguished members of the press,
National Youth Leaders of political parties in Nigeria,

Fellow Nigerians,
The time for a sincere national conversation about the future of our
country, the safety of our people, and the place of young Nigerians in
leadership and governance has come.

We are here today to speak in one voice on behalf of the millions of
Nigerian youths across political, religious and tribal lines.
First, we express deep concern over the worsening insecurity in many parts of Nigeria. This continuous loss of lives to terrorism, banditry,
kidnapping, and other forms of insecurity is unacceptable.
We also condemn in strong terms all forms of security sabotage,
whether by security agents, criminal elements, collaborators, or
those who profit from the suffering of Nigerians.
We are calling on Federal Government, security agencies, state
governments, traditional institutions, and communities to up their
games against insecurity and restore security across our nation.

We are very, very much ready. We have more youths who are more ready than the ones you see collecting money to serve your conscience. The youths are very ready, and these are all these things.

What we are taking that start with just commenced that we are not talking about 27 like you have asked, is because the political parties already filled the candidates, so telling them we want them to hand out the power to do a great business, and telling them after you win, you give us your mandate or your victory, so we are talking about those coming on board, whosoever that is going to emerge must make up his or her mind to prepare the younger generation towards handing over

We are also calling on social media users to stop fuelling insecurity by amplifying the activities and the propagandas of criminals through
sharing their videos, pictures and threats.
Secondly, we wish to address the issue of youth inclusion in
governance and leadership. We are not here to beg for inclusion as
usual, but to demand for leadership transition to younger Nigerians.

It is pertinent to note that Young Nigerians constitute the majority of our population. We are the determinant of election victory in this
country Yet, despite our numerical strength and contributions, we
remain underrepresented in the decision-making leadership
positions of our country.
This Forum, the Forum of National Youth Leaders of All Political
Parties in Nigeria calls on all presidential candidates seeking the
support of Nigerian youths in the 2027 presidential election to
publicly promised Nigerian youths of their plan to hand over power to a younger competent and patriotic Nigerian in 2031.

Get me right, we are not calling for the exclusion of our fathers in
leadership, neither are we asking for power in 2027 knowing that by
now, political parties must have finished fielding their candidates. All we are asking for is a generational leadership transition in 2031 that will marry the energy and innovation of the youths with the
experience and the wisdom of the elders.
Thank you and God bless you.
