Thugs have barricaded major roads along the VGC, Ikota, Ilaje, Ajah, and Abraham Adesanya corridor, using idle tyres to block the route and create massive traffic jams.
According to reports, the hoodlums are targeting motorists, a tactic similar to the “Omotaku” extortion gangs that have terrorised parts of Lagos for years. These criminals demand money, and in some cases, escalate to violence, as motorists who attempt to clear the obstructions have been attacked. The situation mirrors historical patterns where thugs block roads in the evening and extort drivers.
Residents are calling for immediate intervention from the Lagos State Government and security agencies to dismantle these criminal roadblocks and restore order to the corridor.
