Nollywood actress and filmmaker Ruth Kadiri has opened up about the inspiration behind her successful French YouTube channel, revealing that the idea came through what she believes was divine guidance.
Speaking about the experience, Kadiri recalled that the inspiration came shortly after the birth of her daughter in London.
According to her, she was walking down the stairs one day when she felt led to start a French-language YouTube channel, despite not speaking French herself.
She said: “After I had my daughter in London, I was walking down the stairs one day, and I felt God say, start a French YouTube channel. I did not speak French. It made no sense, but I knew that voice. It had guided me before.”
Determined to follow the instruction, Kadiri said she began searching for translators to help bring the project to life.
However, the process was far from smooth.
“I tried to obey. I looked for translators, but it did not work out. One person took my money and disappeared. I became tired and dropped the idea. I felt maybe I heard wrong this time.”
Despite the setbacks, she explained that things eventually took an unexpected turn when the right opportunity presented itself.
“Then, one day, a man called me and asked if I was interested in doing French. Just like that, the right person appeared.”
Today, the French YouTube channel has grown into a major success, attracting over one million subscribers.
Reflecting on the journey, Kadiri said: “Today, that French channel has over a million subscribers. That is how God’s plans are different from our plans.”
Her story has since inspired many fans online, with several praising her perseverance and willingness to pursue an idea that initially seemed impossible.
