“I Earn $1 Million Per Show”- Why I Don’t Chase International Shows Like Burna Boy and Davido -Shatta Wale

Ghanaian music star Shatta Wale has revealed why he is not eager to pursue international shows in the same way many African artists do, insisting that Ghana has already provided him with the wealth and success he enjoys today.

Speaking about his career journey, the singer explained that he became rich through the support, opportunities, and recognition he receives in Ghana, adding that the local entertainment industry continues to reward him handsomely.

According to Shatta Wale, he considers himself an international artist and believes he can command as much as $1 million for performances in Ghana because of the value placed on music and entertainment in the country.

“I didn’t get rich anywhere, I got rich in Ghana,” he said.

The musician noted that he enjoys widespread respect from political leaders, government officials, event organisers, and fans across Ghana. He added that the treatment he receives is comparable to the level of recognition global stars such as Jay-Z and Beyoncé receive internationally.

Shatta Wale further stated that the revenue generated from performances within Ghana has enabled him to maintain a comfortable lifestyle for more than a decade. He explained that some international offers do not match what he can earn at home.

The singer disclosed that he sometimes turns down performance requests in cities such as London when promoters offer between £20,000 and £30,000, arguing that the financial returns are far less attractive compared to what he earns in Ghana.
