Super Eagles mercurial winger, Ademola Lookman is reportedly open to joining Turkish champions Galatasaray, provided the club can reach an agreement with Atlético Madrid over a transfer fee.
According to reports in Turkey, Galatasaray have stepped up their interest in the Nigerian international as they prepare for the 2026/27 season, with fellow Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen said to be playing a key role in the pursuit.
Osimhen, who has been strongly linked with a permanent move to the Istanbul club, is reported to have spoken with Lookman about the prospect of joining him at Galatasaray.
The Turkish champions are keen to strengthen their attack after securing a fourth consecutive Süper Lig title and a record-extending 26th league crown.
Reports from Turkish outlet Aspor claim Lookman has responded positively to the interest but has made it clear that any deal depends on an agreement being reached with Atlético Madrid.
The 27-year-old, who is under contract with the Spanish club until 2030, is said to have told Galatasaray officials to first negotiate terms with Atlético before any move can be considered.
That response has been interpreted as encouragement for the Turkish giants, who are now assessing the financial implications of a deal for the Nigerian, reportedly valued at around €40 million.
Lookman’s future has become the subject of speculation despite his relatively recent move to Atlético Madrid, while Turkish rivals Fenerbahçe are also believed to be monitoring his situation.
Galatasaray’s pursuit could be further influenced by developments surrounding Osimhen, with reports suggesting Atlético Madrid have shown interest in the striker, although the Turkish club are determined to keep hold of him.
For now, Galatasaray’s hopes of pairing two of Nigeria’s biggest stars in Istanbul rest on their ability to strike an agreement with Atlético Madrid, with Lookman reportedly willing to consider the move if the clubs can find common ground.
