The Chairman of Imota Local Council Development Area, Hon. Benson Sunday Ayodele, has charged the newly elected executives of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the council area to prioritize party unity, grassroots mobilization, and effective service delivery as preparations gradually gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Local Government Area (LGA) and Ward Executives of the party at the APC Party Secretariat in Imota, Hon. Benson congratulated the newly elected officials on their emergence and reminded them that leadership positions within the party should be seen as opportunities for selfless service and community development rather than personal advancement.
The council Chairman stressed the need for the executives to strengthen the party’s grassroots structures across all wards, noting that the continued success of the APC would depend largely on the dedication, accessibility, and commitment of leaders at the local level. He emphasized that grassroots engagement remains the foundation of sustainable political growth and electoral success.
Hon. Benson further urged the new party leaders to promote inclusiveness and foster unity among members, irrespective of varying interests or political leanings within the party. According to him, internal cohesion and mutual respect are essential ingredients for building a stronger and more resilient political organization.
The Imota LCDA Chairman also encouraged the executives to maintain close interaction with residents, traditional institutions, youth organizations, women groups, and community stakeholders. He explained that regular engagement would enable the party to better understand the needs of the people and formulate responsive strategies that address local challenges.
Commending party members for the peaceful conduct that characterized the electoral process, Hon. Benson described the successful exercise as a demonstration of political maturity and democratic values. He called on all stakeholders to rally behind the newly inaugurated executives and support them in delivering on their responsibilities.
Speaking on behalf of the newly elected officials, APC LGA Chairman, Aremo Kamilu Ogunnowo, expressed gratitude to party leaders and members for the confidence reposed in the new leadership team. He assured members that the executives would remain committed to advancing the ideals of the party and strengthening its presence across the council area.
