Imota Council Chairman’s Wife Touches Lives to Celebrate Birthday

In a remarkable demonstration of compassion, community service, and commitment to social welfare, the Chairperson of Imota Local Council Development Area, Mrs. Benson Oluwatosin Maria, on Tuesday, 9 June, 2026, organized a birthday outreach programme aimed at supporting school children with educational materials and providing food relief to elderly residents across the council area.

The initiative, held in commemoration of her birthday anniversary, took place at Ansar-Ud-Deen Primary School, Imota, Imota Community Senior Grammar School, and some residents in different communities within Imota LCDA.

As part of the outreach, pupils received essential education materials, including notebooks, pens, pencils, and other learning aids.

Female students were also provided with sanitary pads to support their personal hygiene and encourage regular school attendance. The intervention was designed to promote quality education, improve learning conditions, and ease the financial burden on parents and guardians.

Speaking during the programme, Mrs. Benson Oluwatosin Maria stressed the importance of investing in the education and well-being of children, describing them as the future leaders and drivers of societal progress. She noted that every child deserves access to the resources necessary for academic success, regardless of their socio-economic background.

According to the Chairperson, the outreach reflects her belief that leadership should extend beyond administrative responsibilities to include meaningful acts of kindness and direct support for vulnerable members of society. She reaffirmed her commitment to initiatives that uplift residents and improve the overall quality of life within the council area.

In addition to the education support programme, food items were distributed to elderly residents across various communities in Imota LCDA. The beneficiaries received food supplies intended to provide relief and cushion the impact of prevailing economic challenges, particularly among senior citizens and vulnerable households.

One of the beneficiaries, an elderly woman who preferred to remain anonymous, expressed appreciation for the thoughtful gesture. She commended Mrs. Benson for her humanitarian disposition and unwavering dedication to the welfare of residents, describing the intervention as timely, impactful, and reflective of selfless leadership.

Several other beneficiaries also shared heartfelt testimonies, thanking the Chairperson for remembering the needs of both children and the elderly. School administrators whose pupils benefited from the educational materials noted that the support would significantly enhance learning and encourage academic excellence.

The outreach programme concluded with prayers for the celebrant and renewed calls for collective efforts toward building a more caring, inclusive, and supportive society. The event further reinforced Mrs. Benson Oluwatosin Maria’s reputation as a compassionate leader whose commitment to humanitarian service continues to bring hope and positive change to the people of Imota LCDA.
