Kakamega, Kenya: The mother of CID, a popular bullfighter, has narrated how she collapsed after finding the body of her son, who recently died under mysterious circumstances, in a mortuary.

The western Kenya bullfighting community was thrown into mourning following the death of legendary CID, who owned a ferocious bull known to participate in competitions around the area. He died near the Crying Stone area days after his prized bull, Shakahola, claimed a major victory at Malinya Stadium.

“I was just in the house, and no one had called me, so I went out, and that is when I started screaming; that is when other people started screaming as well. I found my baby lying there, and he had wounds. Mimi sikjui vile uliwawa; wewe mwenyewe ujue nani alikuua, and just like that I collapsed,” said CID’s mother.
How did CID’s kids mourn him?
The tragedy came amid controversy following CCTV footage that allegedly captured him inside a stranger’s cowshed in Vihiga.
After news of his death went round, CID’s daughter spoke out following her father’s controversial death. Brendah Fassy was heartbroken and angry at those criticising him online as investigations continued. She claimed some people hunted her father for days before he was killed and urged the public to stop speaking ill of the dead.
According to his son, he came and said that the key to his door was lost, and he bought a padlock for his Majengo home, and that was the last time they saw him alive.

In another story, a moving video of renowned bullfighter CID has surfaced online just hours after news of his death went viral.
The footage showed him preparing for the anticipated clash between his bull, Shakahola, and Casemiro; he even went and met the owner of the latter.
Ultimately the bull won the contest, but the bullfighter did not live long enough to bask in the championship glory.
