KOMU Opens 2026/2027 Post-UTME, Direct Entry Registration, Sets Cut-Off Marks for Courses

Kingsley Ozumba Mbadiwe University (KOMU) has announced the commencement of registration for its 2026/2027 Post-UTME and Direct Entry (DE) screening exercise. The university said online registration will begin on Monday, June 1, 2026, and close on Friday, July 31, 2026.

According to the institution, candidates who selected KOMU as their first-choice institution during the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry applicants are eligible to apply for the screening exercise.

The university, however, introduced special admission conditions for some of its most competitive programmes. KOMU stated that only candidates who originally selected the institution as their first-choice university during UTME registration will be considered for admission into Medicine and Surgery, Nursing Science, Law, and Medical Laboratory Science.

It added that candidates who later changed their institution to KOMU after the UTME registration process will not be eligible for admission into these programmes.

For all other courses, the university said candidates who did not initially choose KOMU as their first-choice institution can still apply, provided they scored at least 150 in the 2026 UTME and complete a change of institution to KOMU through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).

The institution also released the minimum JAMB score requirements for admission into its programmes. Most courses across the Faculties of Arts, Allied Health Sciences, Computing, Environmental Sciences, Science, Management Sciences, and Social Sciences require a minimum score of 150.

Programmes under this category include Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Technology, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Statistics, Architecture, Estate Management, Public Health Science, Environmental Health Science, English and Literary Studies, History and Diplomatic Studies, among others.

Candidates seeking admission into Medical Laboratory Science must score at least 200 in UTME, while Law and Nursing Science require a minimum score of 210. The highest requirement is for Medicine and Surgery, where applicants must have scored at least 220.

For Direct Entry admission, KOMU said applicants must possess relevant OND, HND, First Degree, or A-Level qualifications. They must also have a minimum of five credit passes in relevant O’Level subjects obtained in not more than two sittings.

The university explained that the screening exercise will not involve a separate examination. Instead, admission consideration will be based on verified JAMB scores and O’Level results uploaded to JAMB CAPS. Accepted O’Level qualifications include WAEC, NECO, GCE, and NABTEB.

KOMU advised applicants to ensure that the information on their JAMB CAPS profile matches the details submitted during the Post-UTME application process. This includes names, date of birth, state of origin, and JAMB registration numbers.

The institution also stressed the importance of using valid phone numbers and email addresses throughout the application process. Candidates were further reminded that uploading O’Level results on JAMB CAPS is mandatory and that only applicants who successfully complete and submit their online applications will be considered for admission.

The application processing fee has been fixed at ₦2,000 and is non-refundable.

To apply, candidates are required to visit the university’s website at www.KOMU.edu.ng and access the Post-UTME Admission Screening Form through the homepage or Online Application section. Applicants are expected to complete the application form, submit it, and proceed to the Remita payment platform to make payment.

The university said the payment can be completed through several channels, including debit cards, bank transfers, USSD, bank invoices, Remita Wallet, and phone number payment options.

After successful registration, applicants are expected to print their acknowledgement slips, which will be required on the screening day. The university also provided a recovery process for candidates who may forget their application numbers, allowing them to retrieve their details using their JAMB registration numbers through the admission portal.

For enquiries and support, candidates can contact the admissions office via email at [email protected] or through the following phone numbers: 08175382217, 08060722027, and 07034918110.

The notice was signed by the Registrar of the university, Dr. Rejoice N. Adioha.
