Kwankwaso Asked About My Health After Teargas Attack, But Stayed Silent Publicly — Sowore

Human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has revealed that he recently met former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, at a wedding ceremony in Abuja, where the former governor expressed concern over reports that Sowore was attacked with teargas during the June 12 protest.

According to Sowore, the encounter took place at the wedding of the daughter of Pastor Dan “DaniBoy” Nwokedi, a longtime friend and fellow University of Lagos alumnus.

Sowore said Kwankwaso told him he had heard reports that operatives of the Nigeria Police Force teargassed him during the protest in Abuja, causing him to collapse afterward.

While appreciating Kwankwaso’s concern, Sowore questioned why the former governor had not publicly condemned the alleged attack.

The activist made the remarks in a post on social media, where he reflected on the conversation and raised concerns about the silence of political leaders on issues involving civil rights and the treatment of protesters.
