The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has unveiled Hon. Damilola Sonayon-James as its Deputy Governorship Candidate for the 2027 Lagos State Governorship Election, reports thegazellenews.com
Hon. Sonayon-James will run alongside the party’s Governorship Candidate, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, on the platform of the APC in the forthcoming election.
Announcing the decision, the Lagos State Chairman of the APC, Hon. Cornelius Ojelabi, described her emergence as the outcome of extensive consultations and a rigorous selection process that considered competence, leadership capacity, grassroots acceptance, party loyalty, and commitment to the progressive ideals of the party.
According to Ojelabi, Hon. Sonayon-James has consistently demonstrated exceptional dedication to public service, grassroots mobilization, community development, and the advancement of women and youth across Lagos State.
He noted that her vast experience in governance, policy implementation, stakeholder engagement, and sustainable development makes her eminently qualified to serve in the office of Deputy Governor.
The state Chairman expressed confidence in the Hamzat-Sonayon-James ticket, describing the combination as a blend of experience, innovation, inclusiveness, and visionary leadership capable of consolidating the achievements of the current administration while advancing the developmental aspirations of Lagosians.
