Man, 38, Beats Father, 65, To Death During A Fight

A 38-year-old man, Nsikak Kingsley, has displayed his boxing skills by beating his 65-year old father, Adone Peter, to death during a fight in Ondo State.

P.M.EXPRESS reports as was disclosed by the Police. They said that the incident happened during a domestic argument in Oda Community, located in the Akure South Local Government Area.

According to the Police, the duo, Kingsley and his late father, Peter, had a heated disagreement which turned violent.

The young man allegedly attacked his father several times, causing serious head injuries. The father was rushed to a hospital, but doctors confirmed he died while receiving treatment.

The crime was reported to the Police by Daniel Moses, the suspect’s brother and another son of the deceased.

The Police officers were able to track down and arrest Kingsley, who is now in Police custody.

This was confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Jimoh Abayomi, who said that the father’s body has been taken to a mortuary for an autopsy.

He also noted that the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for a deeper probe. Once the investigation is complete, the suspect will be charged to court.

Abayomi described the incident as “unfortunate and condemnable,” urging people to avoid letting arguments turn violent.

“No disagreement, whether between family members or within communities, should ever escalate into violence and the loss of life,” he said.

He assured residents that the investigation would be thorough and that anyone found responsible would face the full consequences of the law. He also encouraged the public to resolve conflicts peacefully and to report any suspicious or violent behaviour to the authorities immediately.

The Police said that the suspect will be charged before the Court for the alleged offence after the conclusion of investigations.
