Reports indicate that the disagreement began after she demanded payment of her outstanding salary. The situation is said to have escalated into a legal case, which ultimately led to the court handing down the prison sentence.

The case has drawn attention in both Kenya and Lebanon, reigniting concerns about the treatment of migrant domestic workers in the Middle East. Many Kenyans working abroad continue to report challenges such as delayed or withheld wages, harsh working conditions, and limited access to legal representation or consular support when disputes arise.

Family members of Faith have expressed concern over her well-being and are hoping for assistance and a favourable resolution to her situation.

In a video, her mum seeks help to secure her daughter’s freedom and bring her safely home. She called on local and national leaders to intervene in the matter that she described as an injustice.
