The candidate of All Progressives Congress in the August 15, 2026 governorship election in Osun State, Asiwaju Nurudeen Bola Oyebamiji, on Sunday commended the Osogbo branch of Nasrul-lahi-l-Fatih Society of Nigeria (NASFAT) on its 25th anniversary.
Popularly called AMBO, he rejoiced with NASFAT during the grand finale of activities of the 25th anniversary of the Osogbo branch.
Oyebamiji congratulated all members of NASFAT Osogbo branch, particularly the past and current leaders of the society, for their efforts in bringing people closer to Allah and making a positive impact on the society.
The event was attended by NASFAT members and leaders and prominent personalities in the state including traditional rulers, Muslim scholars, and top politicians.
Popular Muslim cleric, Sheikh Farook Onikijipa, who delivered the anniversary lecture, lauded NASFAT for its significant impact on Muslims and the society as a whole.
Oyebamiji assured residents of transparent leadership, accountability, and people-centred policies aimed at restoring public trust and accelerating development across the state.
He said his ambition was divine and that he was committed to running an inclusive and participatory government.
He promised to govern the state with the fear of God if elected.
Oyebamiji said: “I am a genuine and devout Muslim.
“I am not a cosmetic believer, and I can assure you that I will not disappoint you.
“When we get into government, you will all see the beauty of Islam in our conduct and governance.”
The Chairman of NASFAT, Osogbo Branch, Alhaji Tajudeen Adisa Jimo, charged Muslims nationwide to support efforts to end insecurity in the country.
The NASFAT chairman expressed concern over the worsening security situation across the country and the need for collective action to tackle the menace.
Jimo called on Nigerians to unite in the fight against insecurity, stressing that defeating terrorism and other forms of criminality requires the collective efforts of citizens, security agencies, and governments at all levels.
He said: “We must all unite in combating terrorism, poverty, moral decadence, and all forms of criminality within our society.”
He described the organisation’s achievements as a landmark, saying NASFAT, since its creation, has positively impacted many lives.
He said: “Through the collective support of our members and stakeholders, NASFAT has established affordable model schools (both primary and secondary) to support both secular and Islamic education for our children.
“We have built a functional medical centre well equipped with facilities to cater to the health needs of our communities.
“In addition to free health screenings conducted regularly, the branch has consistently organised free surgical interventions for members of the community without discrimination.
“We have successfully completed and commissioned the Makbara (Muslim cemetery) for the use of all Muslims.
“In our sustained commitment to welfare, the branch has also institutionalised a yearly Ramadan cash support programme for 400 members.
“We have provided business grants, distributed working tools to empower artisans and entrepreneurs, and sustained food distribution programmes for the less privileged.
“The branch has also acquired vast parcels of land and made them available to willing members through housing estate initiatives aimed at addressing accommodation challenges.
“Our Arabic educational programmes have produced more than 100 graduates, while our women and youth remain actively engaged in programmes that promote personal development, spiritual growth, and community service.”
Jimo appealed to members, stakeholders, and well-wishers to continue supporting the branch with resources, expertise, prayers, and active participation.
The guest lecturer, Sheikh Sulaiman Faruq Onikijipa (Al-Miskeen Bilahi), described the anniversary as an important part of life.
He said anniversaries serve as milestones to reflect on shared growth, rekindle connections, and appreciate people and goals that matter.
“An anniversary puts a pin on the calendar to remind us of something that matters to us,” he said.
The Vice-Chancellor of Fountain University, Osogbo, Prof. Olayinka Ramota Karim, congratulated NASFAT, Osogbo Branch for its remarkable achievements over the past 25 years.
Karim noted the establishment of schools, a medical centre, empowerment programmes, and other initiatives, urging other branches to emulate Osogbo’s achievements.
