Police Parade Suspects Over Kidnap of Adelabu’s Sister and Twin Sons in Oyo State

Ibadan, Oyo State — The Oyo State Police Command has paraded several suspects arrested in connection with the abduction of the younger sister of Nigeria’s Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and her twin sons.

The suspects were presented to the public following an extensive investigation into the high-profile kidnapping case, which generated widespread concern across Oyo State and beyond before the victims were eventually rescued by security operatives.

According to the Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, the victims, identified as Mrs. Olaide John-Paul and her twin sons, were abducted while on their way to school in Ibadan. The incident triggered a coordinated security operation involving intelligence officers and tactical units aimed at locating the victims and apprehending those responsible.

Police investigations led to the arrest of multiple suspects believed to be members of the kidnapping syndicate. Authorities disclosed that the suspects allegedly monitored the family’s movements before carrying out the abduction. During the investigation, law enforcement officers recovered several exhibits, including firearms, ammunition, communication devices, and other items linked to the criminal operation.

The police further revealed that intelligence gathered from one of the arrested suspects helped investigators track down additional members of the gang and identify the location where the victims were held captive.

Meanwhile, the Oyo State Government has demolished a three-bedroom bungalow located in the Lako Community along the Aiyegun-Anaye Road in Ibadan. Government officials alleged that the property served as a hideout and detention facility for the kidnappers during the operation.

The demolition was carried out as part of the state’s efforts to dismantle criminal infrastructure and send a strong message against kidnapping and other violent crimes.

Security agencies have assured residents that efforts are ongoing to apprehend other members of the syndicate who may still be at large. The police also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and provide timely information that could assist security agencies in combating crime.
