President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA), Dr. Segun Ogunsanya, on the occasion of his 60th birthday, describing him as an outstanding corporate leader whose career has been marked by excellence, innovation, discipline, and service.
In a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu joined the family, friends, colleagues, and the wider Nigerian business community in celebrating Dr. Ogunsanya’s remarkable contributions to national and continental development.
The President commended Ogunsanya for his significant achievements in telecommunications, enterprise leadership, financial inclusion, and Africa’s digital transformation, noting that his efforts have expanded access to mobile connectivity, digital services, and economic opportunities for millions across the continent.
President Tinubu observed that as the former Group Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Airtel Africa Plc, Ogunsanya led one of Africa’s most influential telecommunications companies with distinction, helping to deepen digital and financial inclusion across several African markets.
The President also acknowledged Ogunsanya’s continued service as Chairman of the Airtel Africa Foundation and Chairman of the Board of NSIA, describing his wealth of experience, strategic foresight, and commitment to sustainable value creation as critical assets to Nigeria’s development aspirations.
President Tinubu said, Segun Ogunsanya represents the best of Nigerian professionalism. His life and career demonstrate what is possible when talent is matched with discipline, vision, humility, and a strong sense of responsibility.
