Saturday, 6 June 2026, Rivers State, Nigeria. There was chaos yesterday evening, Saturday, 6 June 2026, in Rivers State, after a female student of the University of Port Harcourt was allegedly stripped naked by residents after she was caught attempting to use her roommate for ritual purposes.
The trending video of the incident, which was first uploaded by newsbase.ng, is causing a buzz online, with many people blaming her for the alleged act.
According to an eyewitness report, she kept asking for her roommate’s towel while she had her own towel. The roommate reportedly said no, asking why she was requesting her towel when she had her own.
The next day, according to reports, the roommate saw her towel had been cut into half while the suspect was not around.
Out of anger, the roommate called her on the phone to ask what happened to her towel, but she did not pick the call. She also did not come to the house for two days.
After two days, she reportedly came back with two of her friends. The roommate asked her what happened to the towel, and she allegedly warned her not to ever ask such a question again.
She came with a bag, and after some hours, she left with her friends.
According to reports, the roommate later checked the bag she came with and saw her half towel inside a small calabash with something like blood over it. She also saw some native soap around it, with yellow and white candles.
Out of fear, the roommate raised an alarm. When the suspect later came back, neighbors held her and brought out all the items for her to explain what they were.
She reportedly started crying, saying it was her friends that persuaded her to do it.
She was then stripped naked, as residents claimed it was the law for someone who committed such an act.
She was later taken to the police station for further investigation.
