Ekubo’s journey in the entertainment industry gained momentum after he emerged first runner-up in the 2010 Mr. Nigeria pageant. The exposure from the competition helped him transition from modelling into mainstream acting.
Although he had previously appeared in a minor role in Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen’s 2005 production “Sinners in the House”, his breakthrough came with his role in “Ladies Men”, which established him as one of Nollywood’s leading actors.
He later strengthened his reputation with several notable performances, including an award-winning role in “Weekend Getaway”, earning recognition from audiences and industry stakeholders alike.
