Stephen Luketero Wanyonyi, a dedicated scholar whose career has spanned decades of teaching, research and mentorship, has officially attained the rank of full professor of Pure Mathematics.

The achievement marks the culmination of a lifelong commitment to the advancement of mathematics in Kenya and beyond.

In a congratulatory message, UoN invited the academic community to join in celebrating the distinguished mathematician, describing the occasion as one worthy of recognition and pride.

For Prof Luketero, the journey began in the lecture halls of the University of Nairobi, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics with a Statistics major between 1990 and 1994.

He later pursued a Master of Science in Pure Mathematics before expanding his expertise through an MBA in Finance.

Over the years, Luketero has built a reputation as a versatile academic whose interests bridge the worlds of pure mathematics, finance and operational research.

His research portfolio encompasses network analysis, integer programming, game theory, queuing theory, transportation models, derivatives markets and investment management.

This breadth of expertise has enabled him to contribute to both theoretical mathematics and practical business applications.
