Utumishi Girls fire: 10 students suffocated to death, others unidentifiable after incident
‘Parenting is holistic, a collective responsibility. Never say my kid is beyond reproach;lots of emotional intelligence is required, but most importantly, divine visitation.’
Shariff Diba Imran
“It’s high time that these students serve as an example to the like-minded who are continuing to cause chaos and mayhem in schools to the extent of losing innocent lives. Job well done to the detectives involved.”
Roba Remnant Kasmir:
“CCTV analysis zero to just a few, maybe six. The court will name them suspects and school names them as juveniles. The public brands them criminals and parents names innocent kids.Question: Whom do we believe? Answer: Let all parties do their due part and conclusion: education and performance doesn’t stop at the teacher and a learner alone…it is collective.”
Simon MackOndago:
Right now every focus goes to Utumishi Girls’ Academy as an institution, the parents whose children were burnt to death in the arson, the 16 innocent souls and the traumatised remaining students. May all those affected find peace. May the souls of the 16 rest in peace. But have we really thought of these 7 or 8 students who are believed to be the ones who did it. I believe it’s now when reality is dawning on them. It’s now they are realising that they have killed. I’m sure they are also shocked with the manner in which things went out of their hands.”
