Three YouTubers were arrested Monday near Nancy Guthrie’s Arizona home after the Pima County Sheriff’s Office vowed to crack down on trespassing in the neighborhood as the mother of “Today” anchor Savannah Guthrie remains missing.
One of those arrested was caught on video urinating in public behind a makeshift tent, the sheriff’s office told The Independent.
Alexander Zabel, 54, who runs the true crime YouTube channel Criminal Network, was arrested at his home shortly before 6 p.m. He was charged with two counts of obstructing a highway or public thoroughfare and one count of public nuisance. He was being held on a $453 bond.
In a separate arrest, Troy Bradshaw, 34, who runs the YouTube channel “DAA JUICE,” was charged with public nuisance and being held on a $255 bond.
Damian Todd Enderle, 46, who helps manage the local crime blog 857 Tucson, was cited for public nuisance and released at the scene, according to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.
During a livestream on Monday night, Enderle said he was expecting to receive a fine, though he was not certain of the amount, according to 13 News. He also said that supporters helped raise money to bail out Zabel and Bradshaw, and that several people were waiting outside the Pima County Adult Detention Complex for their release.
The arrests come after repeated warnings from the PCSD that trespassing in the neighborhood could result in criminal charges. Officials said Monday they have “received numerous complaints about individuals blocking roadways, trespassing and disrupting the peace in the neighborhood.” The homeowners’ association has also posted no-trespassing signs throughout the community
“Despite those efforts, some individuals continued to disregard the law,” the PCSD said in a news release. “Sheriff Nanos will no longer tolerate behavior that disrupts the community or violates the law. Effective immediately, individuals found in violation of the law may be cited and released on a first offense.”
Guthrie was reported missing on February 1 after she uncharacteristically missed a virtual church service. Investigators later determined she had been taken from her home under suspicious circumstances in a case that has captured global attention, but has since produced few answers as to what really happened.
Savannah Guthrie returned to “Today” in April. On Monday, she revealed that she cries “every morning” as she continues to host the show despite the ongoing investigation.
“It’s always with me,” Savannah told Jenna Bush Hager about her mother’s disappearance. “I cry every morning on the way to work, and I cry every morning on the way home, and I’m grateful to have good friends and to be able to come to such a beautiful, joyous and supportive place.”
“Like so many people out there, you can hold all of these things together,” Savannah added. “I try to tell my kids that too. We can hold our sadness, and we can hold our joy. And if you don’t believe it, just watch me.”
