Osasere shared her testimony during a visit to Daniel Olukoya, the founder and General Overseer of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, where she spoke candidly about a journey that began the moment she walked out of secondary school.

How Osasere’s Accountancy Journey Began

Rather than sit idle while waiting to reach university admission age, Osasere’s parents pointed her towards ICAN’s Accounting Technicians Scheme, an entry-level professional programme designed to prepare candidates for the full chartered accountancy qualification.

She explained that she began pursuing the ICAN qualification three years ago, shortly after completing secondary school ahead of schedule. Rather than waiting until she was old enough to join university, her parents encouraged her to enrol in the ATS pathway and begin sitting the ICAN examinations immediately.

The path was not straightforward. Osasere had not studied accounting during her secondary school years, which meant the early examination papers demanded considerably more from her than from candidates with that background.

According to the accountant, the early ICAN examinations were the toughest because she had no accounting background from secondary school. She said the experience demanded extra effort, but with God’s help she cleared the first level and has since enjoyed consistent success throughout the programme.

Osasere’s Setback, Then Success at the Final Hurdle

Even with her remarkable progress, Osasere’s final stretch included a stumble. She was candid about failing one of her final examination papers last year, a setback that required her to resit it in May this year.

“Last year, I failed one of my final papers, unfortunately, which I had to rewrite earlier this year in May, and to the glory of God, I passed that examination, and now I can say that I am a qualified accountant of the institute at 16 years old,” she said.

She now looks into the future with hope, with big career prospects in the accounting field.

Osasere’s pastor celebrates her

Celebrating the achievement on Facebook, her pastor described Danielle’s accomplishment as an inspiring milestone, saying she had become Nigeria’s youngest chartered accountant at the age of 16.

He added that her success reflected God’s faithfulness and demonstrated what is possible through hard work, discipline, resilience, and a steadfast pursuit of excellence.

He added that her story was proof that “age is never a barrier to greatness” and prayed that the milestone would mark the beginning of even greater accomplishments ahead.
