Arsenal have confirmed the permanent transfer of Belgian winger Leandro Trossard to Turkish Süper Lig club Besiktas, bringing an end to his three-and-a-half-year spell in north London.
The deal is worth £17 million, comprising an initial £15.3 million with a further £1.7 million in add-ons.
Confirming the transfer, Arsenal said: “Leo joined us from Brighton & Hove Albion in January 2023 and made 174 appearances in all competitions for us, scoring 36 goals and assisting 34 times.”
The club added: “Everyone at Arsenal would like to thank Leo for his valued contribution to the club and wish him all the best for his future.”
The transfer remains subject to the completion of regulatory processes.
Trossard arrived at Arsenal from Brighton & Hove Albion in January 2023 after establishing himself as one of the Premier League’s most effective attacking players.
During his time with the Gunners, the Belgium international became an important member of Mikel Arteta’s squad, making 174 appearances across all competitions while scoring 36 goals and providing 34 assists.
His first full season at Arsenal began with silverware after he scored a stoppage-time equaliser against Manchester City in the 2023 Community Shield before Arsenal went on to win 4-1 on penalties at Wembley.
Trossard also played a key role in Arsenal’s historic 2025/26 Premier League title-winning campaign, scoring eight goals and registering 11 assists in 50 appearances as the Gunners also finished runners-up in the UEFA Champions League.
Among his most memorable contributions was the decisive goal in Arsenal’s 1-0 victory away to West Ham United, a result the club described as pivotal to their league title success.
Before joining Arsenal, the 31-year-old began his professional career at Belgian side Genk, where he progressed through the academy before gaining experience during loan spells with Lommel United, Westerlo and OH Leuven.
He later moved to Brighton in 2019, making 121 appearances, scoring 25 goals and providing 15 assists before completing his switch to Arsenal.
On the international stage, Trossard has earned 57 senior caps for Belgium, scoring 14 goals while representing his country at four major tournaments.
