Grammy-winning singer Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has recorded 644 million monthly listeners on YouTube Music, making him the highest-ranked Nigerian artist on the platform.
According to the latest YouTube Music rankings viewed on Tuesday, Burna Boy currently boasts 6.41 million subscribers, placing him ahead of other leading Nigerian acts.
Asake follows with 2.06 million subscribers and 11.6 million monthly listeners, while Wizkid holds 3.67 million subscribers and 24.2 million monthly listeners.
Davido trails closely with 5.04 million subscribers and 25.4 million monthly listeners, and Seyi Vibez rounds out the mid-tier with 500,001 subscribers and 3.28 million monthly listeners.
Other Nigerian artists featured in the platform’s top 10 include Rema, with 5.55 million subscribers; Omah Lay, with 2.78 million subscribers; BNXN, with 506,000 subscribers; Young Jonn, with 458,000 subscribers; and Odumodublvck, with 310,000 subscribers.
This latest YouTube milestone adds to Burna Boy’s impressive run across global streaming platforms.
It comes just weeks after the singer became the African artist with the highest number of monthly listeners on Spotify, reaching 46.84 million and surpassing the previous record of 46.58 million held by South African star Tyla.
His growth on Spotify has been linked to the global success of his collaboration with Colombian star Shakira.
The song was selected as the official anthem for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and gained further traction following their performance at the tournament’s opening ceremony, boosting the singer’s international reach even more.
