The Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, has been honoured with an Award of Excellence by the Conference 57 Chief Press Secretaries (CPS) for his outstanding contributions to strategic communication and public information management.
The recognition took place on Saturday, July 11, 2026, during the opening activities of the Conference 57 CPS annual retreat held in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos.
Speaking while presenting the award, the Chairman of Chairmen in Lagos State, Engr. Sesan Olowa, said the recognition was a testament to Akosile’s commitment to professional communication, effective dissemination of government policies, and his support for information officers across the 57 LGAs and LCDAs in the state.
Olowa described Akosile as a mentor and a rallying point for government communicators, noting that his leadership and accessibility have helped deepen collaboration between the state government and council information managers.
“Conference 57 recognises dedication, professionalism and commitment to projecting the good works of government. Mr. Akosile has consistently demonstrated these values,” Olowa said.
Responding, Akosile expressed appreciation to the Chief Press Secretaries for the honour, dedicating the award to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and members of the Lagos State media team.
He charged the CPSs to remain objective, proactive and united in projecting the achievements of the state government while ensuring that the Lagos story is effectively told from the grassroots.
Conference 57, the umbrella body of information managers from the 57 LGAs and LCDAs in Lagos State, said the award was part of its annual recognition of individuals who have contributed to strengthening government communication and public engagement in the state.
The event formed part of activities lined up for the Conference 57 CPS annual retreat, which brought together information managers from across Lagos State.
