Cubana Chief Priest reacts as abducted Oyo State pupils and teachers regain freedom

Socialite Cubana Chief Priest has reacted to the good news of the freedom of abducted Oyo State pupils and teachers.

Kemi Filani reported on Friday that after over 50 days in captivity, the pupils and teachers abducted by terrorists from their school in Oriire Local Government Area in Oyo State on May 15th had regained freedom.

Presidential media aide Bayo Onanuga disclosed this on X, sharing photos of the rescued pupils and teachers.

Reacting to the news, Chief Priest declared that the weekend would be amazing, calling it the best news so far.

“It’s gonna be such an amazing weekend. Thank God, this is the best news so far”.

When Rivers State governor, Siminalayi Fubara, withdrew from the state APC gubernatorial primary, Chief Priest expressed excitement over the news, noting how his favourite Wike won.

Chief Priest had revealed why Governor Otti of Abia State had refused to join ADC. He alleged that the President has been injecting funds into Abia State to help Otti succeed.

In a Live stream with TikToker Peller, CP said Tinubu doesn’t fully trust him because he is an Igbo man and once worked for Peter Obi, so they feel he can betray him too. Chief Priest revealed that he left Peter Obi because he didn’t want to keep losing, as he doesn’t see him winning the next election

He also spoke about his election loss, saying he will never give up, even if he loses again. CP noted that those trolling and mocking him aren’t financially buoyant, so he isn’t bothered by what poor men are saying.

Refreshing your memory, Cubana was vying for the APC’s ticket for Orsu/Orlu/Oru East federal constituency seat in the House of Representatives. However, he lost to Canice More Nwachukwu, the incumbent for the constituency. Nwachukwu is serving his second term.

Speaking out, Chief Priest said he only got 14 votes in the primary. The socialite described himself as a hustler, hence why he doesn’t regret trying to contest for a position. However, his only regret was trusting the elders in the community, knowing how much he had given them.

The president’s son, Seyi Tinubu, had encouraged him to keep his head up, telling him that people sometimes lose a battle to find a new way to win the war. Seyi added that people know what he is capable of achieving.

Chief Priest, who used to be a die-hard fan and supporter of Peter Obi, surprised many when he switched teams to President Tinubu.

He was appointed as Imo State director of City Boy Movement, CBM, the youth-focused support group for Tinubu’s re-election.
