Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, on Tuesday, swore in Hon. Moses Ogodo as a Commissioner at the Government House in Asaba, in a ceremony marked by an emotional moment.
The event took a touching turn shortly after Ogodo took the oath of office. Overcome with emotion, the newly sworn-in commissioner moved to kneel before Governor Oborevwori in appreciation.
The governor, however, immediately stopped him and urged him to remain standing.
“Don’t kneel down for me. Stand up. We are here to serve Deltans together,” Oborevwori told the commissioner.
The governor’s remark drew applause from those present, with many describing the moment as one of humility and a reminder that public office is about service to the people.
Hon. Moses Ogodo officially assumed office following the swearing-in ceremony and is expected to join the Delta State Executive Council in advancing the administration’s developmental agenda.
