The Department of State Security Services (DSS) and security forces in Zamfara State have rescued the four remaining abducted students.
The students, from the Federal Polytechnic, Kaura Namoda, in Zamfara, were kidnapped on June 3, 2026.
They were abducted from their off-campus hostel in the community.
In a statement, the DSS said the students regained their freedom during a coordinated intelligence-led operation.
The agency said the rescue was done without the payment of ransom. One of the suspected abductors was arrested, with others killed.
The abducted victims were among six persons taken from their hostel in the Kaura Namoda community.
While two had regained their freedom, four others were still in the captors’ den until they were rescued by security forces.
The development follows the rescue of an abducted professor of Nasarawa State Polytechnic in Keffi by DSS operatives.
