Favour Bessan, popularly known as Favy, has emerged as the winner of the first-ever season of MasterChef Nigeria, taking home the coveted trophy and a ₦73 million grand prize after an intense 13-week culinary competition.
The 26-year-old defeated fellow finalist Fads in the grand finale, where both contestants were challenged to prepare a three-course menu that reflected their culinary identity. Favy impressed judges Chef Stone and Chef Eros with her creativity, technical skill, presentation, and storytelling. Her winning menu featured smoked salmon with potato mash and roasted bell pepper soup as the starter, helping secure her historic victory.
Throughout the competition, Favy consistently stood out for her resilience and innovation. She also made history as the first contestant to win the MasterChef Nigeria Immunity Pin, a strategic advantage that helped her reach the semi-finals before eventually claiming the title.
MasterChef Nigeria, which premiered earlier this year, is the country’s first adaptation of the globally acclaimed cooking competition and offers one of the biggest prizes ever awarded in a Nigerian reality TV show.
