Nigerian businessman and billionaire Femi Otedola has gone down memory lane over his philanthropic deeds.
On his Instagram page, he shared throwback photos of himself making a N200 million donation in 2005 to help fund education for youths in Lagos State.
The donation was made at the Sir Michael Otedola Scholarship Award Ceremony, chaired by then Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Recounting his grand gesture, Otedola said true wealth isn’t measured by what we keep but by the lives we change.
“Throwback Thursday. 21 years ago today (in 2005), then Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, chaired the Sir Michael Otedola Scholarship Scheme Award Ceremony. Today, His Excellency now serves as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
At the ceremony, I donated N200,000,000 (two hundred million naira only) to the scholarship scheme founded by my late father in 1987, continuing our family’s commitment to investing in education.

In a video his youngest daughter, Temi Otedola, posted on her TikTok page, she questioned what her father does for a living, and he responded by saying he sleeps for a living.
Two years ago, the former Chairman of Forte Oil PLC was appointed the new Chairman of FBN Holdings PLC (Parent group of First Bank of Nigeria). Before his appointment, Otedola was the financial institution’s largest and only substantial shareholder, holding a 5.6 per cent stake.
In 2022, the businessman was appointed Chancellor of Augustine University, a Catholic University of Lagos Archdiocese. As part of his contributions to the university, the billionaire businessman donated a N2 billion complex to Augustine University’s engineering faculty.
Also, in 2023, Otedola had replied a young man claiming to be his son from one of his past relationships. Femi stated that he never had any girlfriend while in Secondary school as he was a book warm.
During Temi Otedola’s wedding last year, Otedola credited his wife for single-handedly raising the family. He revealed that when they had Temi, he was busy looking for money to care for them. Femi said Nana sacrificed everything, even enduring his bad habits, to ensure the kids were well looked after and spent every minute with them.
Recently, the billionaire businessman left many talking after he was spotted in a viral video, strolling with a mystery woman in Monaco. In the viral clip, Cuppy and Temi Otedola’s father was seen walking side by side with the lady in question.
The billionaire left the internet stunned when he revealed he had a girlfriend in the Philippines. The businessman made this known while exchanging pleasantries with the crew members on his yacht.
