First remembrance prayers for ex-President Buhari to hold Monday

The first remembrance prayers for the late former president of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, will be held next Monday.

This was disclosed by ex-presidential media aide Bashir Ahmad.

In a statement shared on his official X page on Tuesday, Ahmad said the event would be held on Monday, July 13, to honour Buhari’s life and years of service to Nigeria.

“On Monday, July 13th, we will gather in solemn remembrance to honour the life, legacy and enduring service of our late boss, former President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, one year after his passing,” he wrote.

Ahmad described the late former president as a leader who dedicated his life to the service of Nigeria with “commitment, integrity, discipline and patriotism,” adding that his contributions to national development would remain part of the country’s history.

He said family members, friends, associates and Nigerians would come together in prayer and reflection, while offering prayers for Allah to forgive Buhari’s shortcomings, grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus and continue to comfort his loved ones and the nation.
