Governor Abdullahi Sule has congratulated Mrs Justina Ofoku on her election as the Chairperson of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Nasarawa State Council, describing her emergence as a reflection of the confidence journalists in the state have in her leadership, professionalism and commitment to the ideals of the journalism profession.
In a congratulatory message personally signed by the Governor, Engr. Sule said Ofoku’s election is a testament to her credibility, competence and dedication to advancing the objectives of the NUJ.
The Governor expressed confidence that the newly elected Chairperson would provide purposeful leadership, promote the welfare and professional development of journalists, and uphold the ethics and integrity of the profession throughout her tenure.
Governor Sule also commended members of the NUJ, Nasarawa State Council, for conducting a peaceful, transparent and credible election, noting that the process reflects the maturity, unity and democratic values that continue to define the Council.
He further reaffirmed the commitment of the Nasarawa State Government to maintaining its cordial relationship with the NUJ, emphasising the critical role of the media as a partner in promoting good governance, accountability, public enlightenment and sustainable development.
The Governor expressed optimism that the existing collaboration between the state government and the union would continue to flourish in the interest of the people of Nasarawa State.
