Nigerian socialite Cubana Chief Priest is reflecting on his journey with his former boss, Obi Cubana.
In a lengthy post on his Instagram page, he revealed that if Obi Cubana didn’t bring Opium Cubana to Owerri in 2016, he wouldn’t be the Chief Priest people know today. He said he didn’t just lap him; rather, he contributed and became the motion of the business.

CP noted that Obi kept him on, no matter how famous he was becoming. He showered encomium on his former boss and his business acumen.
Affirming his loyalty to him, the Chief Priest said he loves him, noting how he had served, learnt, and grown through working for Obi.
“If Obi Cubana didn’t bring Opium Cubana to Owerri in 2016, I forgot no be Chief Priest. I did not just lap him; rather, I contributed and became the motion of the business. The motion was heavy, and every day was a shutdown.
Before I knew it, Chairman started building Pablo in VI, Lagos, directly opposite billionaire Mike Adenuga’s office.
Obi is born ready; he has a lifestyle and is ready to spend. He is not afraid to lose, learn and move.
He’s an Aries like me, so I had everything I wanted from artist, lifestyle, brands; everything was available.
Very smart dude; he really put me on, not minding how famous I was becoming.
Baba na ruthless builder. He gets anything he wants. He is indeed the Pablo; he’s always ready to explore and deliver.
He handled the construction and setup with ease; before we knew it, Pablo Lagos took over.
We were still wallowing in an abundance of fame and wealth, and this man motioned to Monata Cubana in Ikeja.
Deals were coming; brands were so loyal: beer, champagne, whisky, brandy, etc.
We had every Liquor A-list brand loyal.
I was like, damn, what’s going on with this dude and boom.
He already had Gustavo Cubana coming up in Enugu.
Man is a business machine.
All this happened in just three years, and mind you, Crave Cubana was active in Abuja already with Cubana Suites, Habit, Liquor Empire, Cubana Hotels, etc.
I want to leave it here for today, but before I go, Obi Cubana, you are Don for life; you are a winner, an achiever.
You taught me the business wholeheartedly. He didn’t notice; do it for me alone; we plenty for the list. But as you know, I’m the noisiest of them all.
Invest with him; he’s solid. Man is a walking blessing. This is ten years ago, and I still never see Baba finish.
I love you, my Don.
I was looking back at how good life has been, and it was you.
The lesson for today is: be a man of value. I did not just meet him. I came to serve, learn and grow myself.
When you work for someone, you work for yourself.
I absorbed his contacts; I met his family, friends, customers, associates and partners, and that shaped my own life.
Apprenticeship is key.
You serve before you become Odogwu.
Okpole 10 years after, look at Doro”.

While celebrating his wife’s birthday earlier this year, he recounted how Obi Cubana cautioned him against mistreating his wife. He said such a reprimand from Obi changed him.
When Obi bagged double Chieftaincy titles, Chief Priest congratulated him.
To celebrate Obi Cubana’s 50th birthday, last year, Chief Priest shared photos of them over the years. He described Obi as the guy who discovered him and believed in him first. He prayed for God’s blessings, good health, and more money.
Not done, CP declared that in his next life, he wants to still learn from Obi Cubana. He noted that his composure, style, coordination, package, doings, levels, page, class, and standard are top-notch.
Like many celebrity friendships, Obi Cubana and Cubana Chief Priest have had their own share of public fallout. The two had a rocky relationship for years and finally settled their beef in 2021. However, after Cubana attended Obi Cubana’s mother’s funeral, much wasn’t heard of the two.
In 2022, Chief Priest dispelled rumours of a beef between them after he failed to promote Cubana’s Odogwu Bitters. Proving haters wrong, Chief Priest shared a video of them together as they partied at a club, describing Obi as his overall boss.
