Nollywood actor Stan Nze has explained why he believes Labour Party’s Peter Obi remains the best candidate for Nigeria, stressing that his support is not based on ethnicity but on his desire to see the country progress.
Speaking on the state of the nation, the actor said he is not desperate for Peter Obi to become president, insisting he would support any candidate capable of moving Nigeria forward regardless of their tribe.
“I only want to see a better Nigeria. It doesn’t have to be Peter Obi. I’m not looking for someone from my tribe, but for a candidate who has Nigerians at heart and can move the country forward, not one step forward and ten steps backward. So far, I haven’t seen any better candidate than Peter Obi in this election. The truth is that governance doesn’t affect only one tribe or region, it affects everyone,” Stan Nze said.
His remarks sparked mixed reactions online, with supporters agreeing that leadership should be based on competence, while critics questioned his assessment of Obi’s record and argued that other candidates were better suited for the presidency.
Selected reactions:
@Ebinehita12: “I wish I can vote. But I can’t because I’m a corper and I can’t go against the government 😔”
@erhasolomon: “Meanwhile when Obi was increasing poverty in Anambra as governor, his parents were in Lagos benefiting from the pragmatic governance of Tinubu.”
@Tochi1112210: “A New, totally transformed and far better Nigeria we must get by all means to save Nigerians. Nigerian lives matter.”
@EkeneAninze: “We all know the truth that the man in power has not met the expectations of people so there is no need counting him again. We need a president that has compassion and is interested in making Nigeria work.”
@debo_rev: “That you can’t see a better candidate than Peter Obi further emphasizes the need for you to seek help and upgrade your intellectual infrastructure.”
@topeapoola: “I have a lot more respect for Ibos who say it with their full chest that they want an Ibo president.”
